To support the work of the N.C. Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped.

Administers Smart Start and NC Pre-K state funds locally and directing those dollars to programs that measurably strengthen Union County’s children and families.

To strengthen and expand the services of Project Enlightenment, an early childhood program that promotes school success for Wake County's young children by educating children, teachers and parents through fundraising efforts.

To build partnerships between parents and organizations and to mobilize public and private community resources in order to help strengthen children and families.

To advocate for children prenatal to five years old in Anson County.

To improve the lives of children 0-5 years old and their families.

To ensure all Buncombe County young children will be healthy and prepared to succeed when they enter school.

To provide a margin of exxcellence for Randolph Community College by building a strong reloationship with the local community, acquiring and managing cotributions and funding activities that sponsers the college.

To perpetuate the values of Ruth Z. and A.M. Fleishman.
