To promote and enhance creative and performing arts in the greater Southport area
Our vision is to cultivate & open doors to education through: providing financial support, developing leadership skills, life on life relationship building, and exposure to the democratic process.
To support local veterans successfully transition home after military service.
To preserve and promote the legacy of honorable veteran service through historical research, documentation correction and proper recognition.
To rescue, train and partner animals with veterans suffering from loneliness, depression, Post Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury and physical disabilities.
Restoring home, health and spirit allows our residents to focus on a tailored program that gives them the skills, education, confidence and a plan to rebuild their lives and reestablish them as net contributors to our community.
VHVH’s 30/30/90/30 program is customized to each resident in concert with our staff, led by a case manager and delivered over approximately 1 year. Our focus is moving our veterans to permanent housing and independence as soon as possible, yet our program has the flexibility to extend the veteran’s care to almost 2 years if necessary.
Our mission is to provide pathways of hope and opportunity for successful living beyond limitations. Our vision is to be a catalyst for individuals with disabilities or limitations to live with dignity, independence, and confidence as contributors to society and a part of our community.
Ray and Renee share a passion for individuals with disabilities. Their interest in this area stems from their personal lives because both Ray and Renee have experienced firsthand the effects of disabilities. Ray grew up with a brother named Davie who had Downs Syndrome, and Renee suffered from a brain tumor, which at one point, left her unable to walk. Together, their goal is to rally the community to support and provide independent living solutions, while enlightening people on the best practices of engaging with people with disabilities in realizing respect and dignity without any limitations.
The overarching goal is to invest in FBOs as mutual business partners to adopt effective and sustainable policy, systems, and environmental change (PSE) strategies to enhance healthier lifestyle choices, develop tobacco-free sites, implement sustainable physical activities and nutritional options. VHB incorporates a 10-month FBOs competition team challenge that uses a community-based framework to provide tools and resources to improve healthy outcomes.
