To develop, implement and promote sound economic strategies that improve the quality of life of rural North Carolinians, with a special focus on individuals with low to moderate incomes and communities with limited resources.

To cultivate relationships with children and families in Southwest Raleigh and expand their access to economic and academic advancement opportunities through direct services and community partnerships.

To provide educational opportunities that enhance and expand consumer horticultural programs.

To add value to our members by enhancing association management as a valid profession with a distinct body of knowledge, helping our members develop to their fullest potential and fostering recognition and respect of our profession by promoting the value and effectiveness of associations.

To preserve historic Duke Mansion and to operate the Lee Institute.

To promote social and economic justice in North Carolina by providing technical assistance and loans to home and business owners and nonprofits.

To bring the resources of the Town, University and downtown community together to maintain, enhance and promote downtown as the social, cultural, and spiritual center of Chapel Hill through economic development.
